Akilah is a magnetic, relatable, entertainment host and media businesswoman passionate about inspiring the underrepresented to build the lives they’ll love. I’m a bi-coastal go-getter living in Atlanta and Los Angeles (although NYC will forever be home). She has a special love for all things pop culture, fashion, business, self-care, and lifestyle. From behind the scenes content at big media parties to solo pep talks in her bathroom mirror, she shares her pop-culture and business obsessions PLUS her journey to her version of success despite not having a cookie- cutter template (HELLO hustle!). Akilah gives daily positive vibes of a black woman chasing her dreams while being unapologetic about preserving her black girl magic and investing in her wellness.
Both a former management consultant at Ernst & Young and previous TV/Film Studio dealmaker and partnerships lead at companies such as Apple TV, NBCUniversal, and HBO Max Akilah is a rising authority in the media and entertainment space (having garnered the title of Vice President of Content at a streaming service in just 3 short years of working in the industry)! As an on-air talent, podcaster, and content creator, Akilah is most known for her work on Revolt, Afterbuzz TV, Cheddar Media, Forbes the Culture, and her own Youtube series featuring cast from the wildly popular Netflix series Love is Blind and Lifetime’s Married at First Sight. She has interviewed a variety of guests including viral influencers, choreographer of Beyonce’s Beychella performance, black therapists, and more on her podcast, The Black Creators Club.
Akilah is a proud Alpha Kappa Alpha woman, UNC Tarheel, Ivy League graduate (MBA from Columbia Business School), and charismatic first-generation American (daughter of Jamaican immigrants).
Ultimately, she’s just out here trying to do Oprah, Carrie Bradshaw, and Rihanna justice.
